Paralegal

Charlotte Bostwick

Charlotte was born in St. George, Utah and grew up in both Utah and Idaho, graduating from Blackfoot High School. After attending Utah State University, Charlotte decided to pursue a degree in Paralegal Studies. Charlotte grew up in the home of an attorney and has been involved in the legal field for decades. Her original fascination came from watching her father practice law. Charlotte began her paralegal in her father’s practice while she attended school at Salt Lake Community College. While there she was on the President’s list for all three semesters she attended. She graduated from Salt Lake Community College in 2006 in Paralegal Studies.

Charlotte has been a paralegal for 14 years working in both criminal and family law. For the last eight years her main focus has been family law and she has seen and helped clients with all different types of family law issues. Charlotte’s extensive knowledge of family law is as exceptional support to the attorneys she works with and her experience continues to benefit the clients she works with everyday at Quackenbush Legal.

Financial Controller

Tami Savage

Tami was born and raised in Oregon but relocated to Utah in 2005 to be closer to her family and has remained in the Greater Salt Lake region since. Although she misses seeing the ocean on a regular basis, she has embraced Utah as her home and loves taking advantage of the many outdoor activities and adventures available here.

Tami obtained an Associate degree in Sociology in 2008, which has aided her throughout her career in account management, marketing, sales, and project management. As the firm’s Financial Controller, Tami focuses on making sure client needs are met and understood by each department within the firm. She serves as the primary contact person for many client services endeavors and seeks to ensure clients are experiencing a positive client-company relationship. Additionally, Tami oversees all aspects of billing support to the firm. Tami is incredibly empathetic and is strongly solution-oriented, which makes her an asset to both the Quackenbush Legal team and our clients.

Legal Assistant

Banno Vaituulala

Banno Vaituulala is a Legal Assistant at Quackenbush Legal, PLLC’s Utah office. He has a passion for law, business, and non-profit work, which he further developed while attending Brigham Young University (BYU). Banno graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Strategic Management and minored in Nonprofit Management. During his studies, he honed an analytical, detail-oriented skill set that serves him well in the legal field. Ultimately, Banno strives to provide the firm’s clients with efficient, effective service tailored to their specific needs.

When he is not working, Banno enjoys reliving his glory days by playing basketball at the local recreational center and visiting the batting cage. He also has a passion for cooking and considers himself both a food connoisseur and a competitive eater.

Legal Assistant

Sehar Merrill

Sehar Merrill is a Legal Assistant in the Quackenbush Legal Chicago office. Sehar joined in May of 2023 and is a dedicated legal assistant with a diverse background. She has a passion for law that blends with a history in Journalism, Hospitality, and Healthcare. Her journey began in the world of Journalism, where she polished her skills as Editors for her school newspapers. This early exposure laid the foundation for her ability to convey complex information clearly—a skill she now applies in the Legal field.

A significant chapter of her career took place in the dynamic and demanding environment of the Bar and Restaurant Industry. Over 13 years, she progressed from a Server to the General Manager of three Downtown bars. This experience left her with invaluable leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, which seamlessly translate into the legal realm.

Adapting to the change the COVID-19 pandemic brought, she transitioned to healthcare and worked in a Hospital setting. However, her genuine passion for the Legal field led her to Quackenbush Legal. Sehar desires to leverage the diverse skills acquired throughout her career and is excited to embark on this new chapter as a Legal Assistant.

Receptionist & Legal Assistant

Alexis (Lexi) Knudsen

Alexis Knudsen was born and raised in Utah with her parents and four younger siblings. As the first point of contact for the firm, Alexis strives to build quality working relationships with clients and other legal professionals. She has years of administrative and customer service experience. Alexis is incredibly empathetic and is strongly solution-oriented, which makes her an asset to both the Quackenbush Legal team and our clients. When not working, Alexis enjoys baking, spending time with her husband and exploring the outdoors.
Receptionist

Jocelyn French

Jocelyn French is the first point of contact at Quackenbush Legal PLLC, where her professionalism and organizational expertise ensure a welcoming and efficient experience for clients. With a background in Political Science and English, Jocelyn brings strong communication and problem-solving skills to her role.
Her diverse experience spans marketing, administrative coordination, and legislative work, including an internship with the Utah State Senate, where she honed her skills in scheduling, event planning, and constituent engagement. Jocelyn’s attention to detail and dedication to client satisfaction make her an invaluable member of the Quackenbush Legal team.

Jocelyn plans to become a lawyer and is currently pursuing her education toward this goal, being two years ahead in her academic journey. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the outdoors, music, the gym, and engaging in volunteer efforts to support her community. She is passionate about fostering meaningful connections and creating positive experiences for those she serves.

Front Desk Receptionist

Lance D. Fitzpatrick

Meet Lance D. Fitzpatrick, a qualified professional of Communication expertise and Security proficiency. With a degree in Communication, Lance blends his academic knowledge with a strong background in Security to redefine the role of a Receptionist.

Lance is not your typical receptionist; he possesses a keen understanding of the importance of Communication in Security-related contexts. He holds a solid foundation in specific areas of Communication, which include verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. He always ensures that information flows seamlessly, both within the office and with clients, which contributes to a secure and efficient operational environment. Lance is a dedicated and self-motivated professional whose passion for his work is truly impressive.

Beyond work, he treasures time with family and friends, and embodies a genuine desire to make meaningful contributions to those around him. Meticulous in his approach, Lance is known for his attention to detail and valuable suggestions that contribute significantly to the success of his endeavors. That being said, with the polished Security skills he acquired through years of experience in the Security Sector, Lance brings a unique perspective to the front desk of the Quackenbush Legal office in Chicago.

Shauntel

Shauntel is a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant with a specialization in family law. She brings a wealth of experience not only in legal research, document preparation, and client relations but also from her background in various forms of sales. Her sales expertise has honed her communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, making her adept at understanding client needs and effectively managing cases. This unique combination of legal acumen and sales experience allows Shauntel to approach her role with both precision and a client-focused perspective, ensuring every detail is handled with care and professionalism.

Outside of work, Shauntel enjoys immersing herself in good books, exploring the outdoors, and finding inspiration in nature. Whether hiking scenic trails, relaxing in a park with a novel, or planning her next outdoor adventure, Shauntel values moments that enrich her personal growth and creativity.

Candace Hartlauer

Candace Hartlauer is a highly skilled Legal Assistant at Quackenbush Legal, PLLC, bringing over 20 years of experience in financial services, risk management, and legal support. Candace Hartlauer is a seasoned professional with a background in bankruptcy law, foreclosure law, mortgage underwriting, loss mitigation, and fraud prevention. Candace excels at navigating complex legal and financial landscapes with precision and insight. Her broad expertise allows her to successfully advocate for her clients and navigate through potentially difficult situations.

Before joining Quackenbush Legal, Candace worked as a Loss Mitigation Specialist at Academy Mortgage Corporation, where she applied her in-depth mortgage expertise to resolve high-risk scenarios. Her ability to create innovative solutions showcases her proactive approach to problem-solving. Candace also has a legal background where she was previously a Paralegal at Lundberg & Associates, PC. Candace was responsible for managing a team of seven and liaised with attorneys to oversee the preparation of foreclosure and bankruptcy documents.

Candace holds a Paralegal Certification from Weber State University, blending her legal and financial acumen to provide exceptional support in her role. Her commitment to compliance, leadership, and strategic planning makes her a valuable asset to the Quackenbush Legal team and a trusted professional in the legal and financial sectors.

Caroline

After graduating from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in April 2021, Caroline spent three years working as a public educator in the classroom. Caroline has always been interested in various aspects of law, and her time as an educator highlighted how the law directly impacts children and families. Now a Legal Assistant with Quackenbush Legal, Caroline applies the foundational skills she developed during her time teaching to approach cases with attention to detail, empathy for complex transitions, and a solution-forward mindset.

When not working, Caroline enjoys crafting, reading riveting books, and spending quality time with her loved ones.
