About Kurt
Kurt Quackenbush is a Licensed Paralegal Practitioner (LPP) at Quackenbush Legal. As an LPP, Kurt is licensed by the Supreme Court of Utah to provide limited legal services in family law — divorce and legal separation, child custody and parent time, child support, modifications to existing decrees and orders, protective orders and mediation — and he also has knowledge and experience in debt collection and landlord/tenant law.
An LPP license is narrower than an attorney's license. Within his authorized areas Kurt can advise you, prepare and file approved court documents on your behalf, review and explain documents the other side sends you, and negotiate and mediate for you. He does not represent clients in contested hearings or at trial. If a matter needs an attorney, one of the firm's attorneys takes it from there.
After working several years in the legal field, Kurt completed the certification and licensing required by the Supreme Court of Utah and the Utah State Bar to serve as a Licensed Paralegal Practitioner in family law, debt collection, and landlord/tenant matters.
Kurt is a native of Utah, where he completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University and worked with major corporations such as General Motors, Sony SCEA and Electronic Arts (EA). Kurt left the corporate world to work in public education for more than 11 years before pursuing a career in the legal field.
Kurt's goal is to make legal services more accessible and affordable for those who may not require, or be able to afford, full attorney representation. Kurt provides guidance through every step of the legal process, from document preparation and court filings to negotiation and mediation support.
